In our class we all did a text wrapping, it had to include 3 columns, an image of ciara and the text. I then had to wrap the text around ciara to make it look like a page layout. I understand how to text wrapping.

SKILLS
1. For my magazine, I have done Rhianna and Kanye west. This was done on Photoshop. In Photoshop I had to place a picture of Rihanna and make a title name, I then had to write loads of features that would be in the magazine. We did; Rihanna, Kanye west and double page magazine. The type of tools I needed to use to complete the task were; magic wand, transform skill, text tool, layers and quick mask used a lot of tools.
· For my audio, I had to use audacity; I had to put 2 audios together, which is an audio of girls speaking and a sound. I had to mix them two together. The sound had to be playing but had to be playing quietly because I had to hear the girls speaking in the clip.
· For my video, I had to use premiere. In my video, I had to edit some clips out because of the mistakes that were shot in the film. I then had to put effects and sounds in the video clip. The genre of this film was a horror, the effects and sounds had to make the clip seem more realistic and scary. For example, in the clip there was a door opening, I put a sound effect of a creaking door opening, this gave it a scary atmosphere.
2. The skills that I have learnt by doing all these are, how to lower the sound so you can hear the people speaking in a radio, how to crop an image neatly and clean the edges, how to do work in Photoshop; such as layouts, merges and air brush. In premiere, I’ve learnt how to make a video clip, I’ve learnt how to cut the pieces out and still make a video that makes sense and its flows.
3. Before my course started I understood how to use Photoshop, with the cropping and cleaning the edges, but over the year I have learnt more, for example. Knowing how to air brush people neatly, without making any mistakes. I’ve developed a better understanding in design, when I was making my double page spread. I knew how to do a 3 column layout.
RESEARCH
4. When I had to research my product and the audience that would read it, I didn’t understand well, I didn’t know what audience I was looking for and how to write it down. It was complicated for me because the audience was older and I didn’t know what older people would be into, so I had to take a guess. Afterwards, I started to get the hang of it and I was doing well after.
5. The type of research I did to find out what target audience likes and what they expect to find in my media products was a survey, people then filled the survey out. After that I had to look at the bar chart to see the results. I did some research on the internet, to know what celebrities and majority of older women likes.
INDIVIDUAL WORK
6. I had to work on my own, with the all my magazines I have done on Photoshop, with my audio and my video. I found this quite hard because I’m a team worker; I’m not an independent worker. However, I did well because I got on with it and asked the teacher for help. But I would have preferred someone to help with when I was doing the double page spread. Because it seemed too much to do, I would have liked help with knowing how to place the images in right. But I had to do it on my own, it worked out well in the end.
GROUP WORK
7. I worked in a group when I was doing the audience research, and when we had to make our own TV programme and write down what our audience would like to see, what demographic fits our programme. I found this easy because I had someone to help me and it went a lot quicker because we was thinking of ideas that we could write down.
8. I worked well with other people, with my partner we worked really well together, the evidence I have got is a piece of work that me and my partner did on audience research.
9. Other group members would say that my contributions to group work is good but I could work harder, I give them ideas but I’m sometimes shy to say them, just in case they do not like my ideas.
10. When I was working in my group and another group wasn’t work well, I told them to be quite and work, when they started to talk I just let them get on with it, because I have my work to finish. If I get trouble for something I didn’t do, it wouldn’t be fair.
CREATIVITY
11. For my creativity I would rate myself, out of 10, 7. Because I’m not as creative when it comes to making clips. I can be but sometimes I’m afraid that it wouldn’t turn out right. My creativity can be a little mad sometimes. I would have loads of ideas and only pick one because there are too many.
12. When I thought of my ideas for media products and then I had to produce the ideas, I would sometimes say the different ideas that I wasn’t thinking. Because I would know how to write it down, in my head it’s easy to say but when producing it, it doesn’t make sense. When I actually produced my magazine, the image didn’t look like the ideas that had thought about.
USING EQUIPMENT AND APPLICATION
13. In Photoshop, I am good at merge layers, air brush and changing the colour of a person’s hair. I know how to do basics and I’m now a bit more confident on using the harder tools.
For In design, I’m quite good at this, my 3 page spread came out really well; I knew how to place images and shapes.
For premier, I know how to edit video clips; I know how to use to the points, in and out. I’m good at adding effects and sounds to the clip.
For audacity, I’m not quite good at this because I need to how to make the audio music quite and the voices louder, I know how to do this but I need to know how to do the bed, where the music is loud then gets quite when the person is speaking.
STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES.
14. The areas I am good at are Photoshop; knowing how to place an image and edit it neatly. I’m also good at video editing, adding sound effects to fit the atmosphere that the video gives.
15. My weaknesses are doing air brush on Photoshop. I want to know how to air brush an image and make the edge look as if they haven’t been Photoshop.
16. One skill that I have improved on is knowing how to edit video clips and to add effects and sound to the clips. I also improved on work that I have done in Indesign, such as the 3 column spread. I had to create a 3 column spread and add pictures and different types of fonts to make your magazine look professional.
17. The media area I would like to focus on in the next piece of coursework would be editing a video, because I want to make a music video when I reach year 11.

Audience profile
My audience are outgoing, social able females. They enjoy doing sports, mainly swimming. 75% of them download music through YouTube; music plays a big part in their life. They would like to listen to R&B and Hip Hop. This suggests that my audience are outgoing and prefer music that is fast and fun. My audience do not play instrument, only a couple of people play the piano and the rest do not like or play an instrument. When they go out food shopping they would prefer to go Tesco’s, however the other percentage would like to go Asdas. Quite a lot of people spend less than 60 pounds whilst out shopping for food or clothes. On average they would spend around 10-50 pounds on clothing and food. 47% of my audience would prefer to sit in doors watching movies, about 33 percentages prefer to go out with friends and the 20% would rather sit indoors on the internet. Majority of my audience would rather watch movies.
Above is my audience profile that I wrote, according to my survey results. I have done an estimate of what my audience would prefer to do as my charts didnt give me percentages.
